Travel Assistance and Ticket Help
Greetings from New Zealand.

My 2 teenage sons, Uncle & I are heading over for 2 weeks in April. Bit of a 'bucketlist' holiday and need some help please. Before you ask, yes I'm a fan. I've been a member on here for about 15 years - love the banter, just don't have time to post. My last 2 visits to London I went to games in 1990 (1-0 v Rovers) and in '99 (5-1 v Derby). I spent thousands going to Auckland & Wellington to see the BFS pre-season debacle last year so really want an opportunity to see the team and UP if possible. So my questions are:

- Decent hostel type accom in SE area. Thinking of being around Docklands etc as a base? Other options?
- I'm a beer distributor so decent bars / breweries to visit in the area?
- Are first team trainings open viewing?
- Anyone done the UP tour? Will do it anyway, interested in your comments?
- Chances of tix for Leicester away? Tried LCFC but nothing available.
- Chances of tix for the rescheduled Watford game?
- Chances of tix (if I join as a current season member) for the semi, if we make it?
- Are their ticket agencies you can get tix for other clubs games? We've got seats for Old Trafford on 16 April but would be nice to get the boys to a few other grounds while in the country.

All help gratefully received. Pints for any that help.

Cheers

Tayyabs or Needo's are pretty decent curry fare.

Re: Travel Assistance and Ticket Help
Well if he ants a decent curry then Brick Lane isn't the place to go, but Champers (that right? - big pink sign) there is decent.

Cheers Johnson - I emailed the ticket office a few months back and got the standard 'you need to be a member to be assured etc... I don't mind paying the 40 quid for membership but not if it doesn't guarantee a ticket. We would have been stuck anyway as we're travelling in school holiday time here and the only home game was ManU which has been deferred. Now we get a chance at the Watford game but they were mostly sold before that was rescheduled - if you get my drift.

Interestingly, I emailed Leicester, Arsenal and Stoke this week as they all have games while we're there. Got replies from all within hours. Emailed WHU re hospitality options (as a long shot) for the Watford game and are still to have a response.

Re: Travel Assistance and Ticket Help
if you email sulli directly he'll usually sort you out tickets.

Hackney Wick has some good breweries now, though its naturally a bit poncey

Re: Travel Assistance and Ticket Help
Contact the club directly, they're quite good with this sort of thing I think. Just phone the ticket office or tweet Brady or the boy Sullivan

Cheers Ted.

RichyP - I line in Christchurch (South Island) and the games were in Wellington and Auckland (North Island). Welly is a 5 hr drive + 3 hour ferry - Auckland is 8hrs drive from Wellington. I took my uncle to both and sons to the Wellington game so 6x flights,2 nights accom, tickets, meals etc - it all adds up.

Cheers

Re: Travel Assistance and Ticket Help
They had tickets for the re-arranged Watford game for sale on the OS earlier this week, I reckon there may be a few more returned via ticket trader as well so keep on top of that and you might get lucky.

Out of interest how did it cost you thousands to see West Ham in NZ when you live in NZ? NZ It's only slightly bigger than the UK which makes pretty much anywhere drivable.

Hello Bozo

I'd say you're chances of tickets for West Ham games are slim to none but if you keep looking on here they sometimes can come up.

Google the London football guide every Monday for a weekly list of games to do.

I'd recommend trips to either Fulham or Brentford personally, reasonably priced and some good boozers near the grounds. If you need anymore help just drop me. A whomail..
